can't log in to the 2900 Switch console!

I have tried to connect via telnet using db9 serial cable and I don't get no response from the switch.

I have use a db9 terminal adapter and a cross over cable/rollover. Should I usea straigh thrue cable?

Config is 9600 baud, No parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit using Hyperlink emulation software.

Re: can't log in to the 2900 Switch console!

Isaac,

Crossover cables and rollover cables are very different. Ethernet uses strands 1,2 and 3,6. A crossover cable just crosses over these pairs. A rollover cable crosses over each strand in the cable. 1 -> 8, becomes 8 -> 1.

Make sure you are using one of the light blue or black rollover cables.

Your config settings are correct for the default console setup. Try different baud rates if it still does not work - perhaps the baud on the console was changed accidently.
