Can the 1721 use a 1720 IOS?

Can the 1721 use a 1720 IOS?

Just wondered because I couldn't see a "GD" release for the 1721.

Thanks.

They share the same ios. 1720 router is EOL. End of Life and End of Sale. 1720 is now replaced with 1721 routers. So ios relases for 1721 is not yet reached the GD phase. Pl. visit

You should be able to use the 1720 image on 1721.

Yes, they use the same IOS, however, do to the different hardware architecture the 1721 is only recognized currently in the T train of code. You cannot use mainline 1720 IOS on a 1721.
