The 4-wire 56k CSU/DSU implements switched 56k and DDS (leased line ) operation. The hardware feature set is identical to the 4-wire 56/64k CSU/DSU for the 2524-2525.

The 4-wire 56k CSU/DSU is manufactured by Adtran.

* Supports Switched 56 operation at 56 kbps (AT&T Pub. 41458, Sprint TS-0046)

* Receiver sensitivity -45db at all loop rates

* Diagnostic Functions

o Self Test Function (at power on and user initiated)

o Network line and DTE loopbacks User initiated DTE, line, and remote V.54 loopbacks.

* Compliance

o UL 1950

o UL 1459

As compare to WIC-1DSU-T1

The T1 CSU/DSU WAN Interface Card provides full or fractional T1 service. It does not do channelized T1. Look at this link below for more information.

Dear,

Can you tell me can the WIC-1DSU-T1 replace the WIC-1DSU-56K4 ?Thanks very much

Sincerely

Yes, it can physically occupy the same slot size (WIC), so it can serve as a replacement in the router. But...

No, you cannot use the WIC-1DSU-56K4 on the same leased line as a WIC-1DSU-T1. You have to replace the leased line circuit too, with one that is compatible with the new WIC.

The T1 leased line circuit uses pins 1, 2, 4, and 5 in an 8-position connector (RJ-45 or RJ-48), when it connects to the DSU/CSU. The 56K leased line uses pins 1, 2, 7, and 8. They don't match up. Signaling on the lines is different, too.
