Can you have multiple vlans on a single port on a 2950?

You can make a port a trunk (802.1q or ISL) to allow many VLANS to be carried by this port. A normal access port can only be a member of one vlan though.

Hope this helps,

I don't know about the 2950 but the 2924 had a multi vlan mode wich ment that there where multiple untagged vlans active on one port.

Could you enable trunking on an access port if you had a device with multiple virtual IPs on different subnets and have the port switch from one vlan to another using the 802.1q vlan tags to filter the traffic? If this is not possible on the 2950 is it possible on some of the higher end switches?

Am I making any sense?

I believe this can be done if your network card supports 802.1q trunking also.
