Q. Does URT 2.0 work with Cisco VoIP phones?
A. Yes. Cisco VoIP phones are configured in an auxiliary VLAN through the switch command-line interface (CLI). URT continues to function unhampered. Catalyst
6000 support has been built into the handshake between the phone and the switch as part of the Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP) phone identity process to configure an 802.1Q port. The Catalyst 6000 will require a software upgrade to be released in January 2001 to support a host and a Cisco IP phone on the same port. It makes no difference to URT if the host is connected directly to a switch port or to a Cisco IP phone data port.
