Can you run CATOS & Native together?

We are going to replace our current core topology of 5500's (CATOS) with 6509's (and 4507's in some access closets -Native) but some of our existing access 6509's run CATOS. Will I have to convert to Native on these or can I run Native on the core and CATOS on some access switches? We are using VLAN's too so I want make sure there are no problems trunking the VLANs across my network.

Thanks.

Definitely run native in the core, and you have a choice of CatOS or IOS in the closet. You won't have any problems trunking between native mode and CatOS.
