cannot detect 2924XL in CW2K

I have Cisco 2924XL switches (IOS) running v 12.0 and ver 11.2.

CW2K cannot detect these switches even after applying the latest patches to CW server. Do I need specific IOS version in the switch ?

What exactly you mean by 'CW2K cannot detect' these switches?. What exactly is the error etc?. Which RME/Campus Manager version?

My CM-V3.2 and RMW V 3.4.

Cannot detect means in ANI server, the switch indicated as "unknown" device and CM topology view it is shown as a red colour box with a question mark.

But the same software detects other Cisco switches ( 2950).

But is the supported devices list in the server, c2924XL in included.

Hi,

I'd check:

1) is CDP enabled on the 2924XLs?

2) are SNMP community strings configured correctly in CW2k for the the 2924XLs?

3) I'd try to upgrade one of the 11.2 2924XLs to the latest IOS. Even if it doesn't fix your problem it's always better to run the latest IOS on the 2924XLs (they are out-of-sale nowadays so the new IOS versions are only fixing the existing bugs).
