Cannot format bootflash: under CatOS (Sup720)

Hi!

After IOS->CatOS conversion I am unable to format the internal 512MB compact Flash device:

Console> (enable) sh flash devices

disk1, disk0, bootflash, tftp

Console> (enable) format bootflash:

All sectors will be erased, proceed (y/n) [n]? y

Enter volume id (up to 31 characters): QQQ

error = -1

Format device bootflash failed (unspecified error)

The ROMMON boots the CatOS successfully as it understands the IOS-like filesystems, but the CatOS cannot dir/read/write to the bootflash as it was formatted under IOS. This breaks crashinfo creation, auto-sync between Sups, etc.

Please help!

one way may be to format the flash with a flash card reader. (if you can obtain one; not too expensive)

i've seen where the sup was not able to format/access the flash and a format from a flash card reader was successful in allowing the sup to read/write to the flash.
