Cannot link WS-CE500G-12TC to WS-C2950SX-24 via fiber LC to MTRJ

Switch 1:

Cisco Catalyst Express 500G-12TC

(WS-CE500G-12TC)

Eight 10/100/1000BASE-T and four 10/100/1000BASE-T or SFP ports for switch aggregation or server connectivity http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/ps6545/products_data_sheet0

Switch 1 SFP module:

1000BASE-SX short wavelength; without DOM GLC-SX-MM http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/modules/ps5455/products_data_shee

t0900aecd8033f885.html

Switch 2:

Cisco Catalyst 2950SX 24 Switch-24 10/100 Mbps ports with two fixed 1000BASE-SX uplinks

(WS-C2950SX-24)

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps628/products_data_shee

I am trying to connect Switch 1 (500G-12TC) port 12 with a SFP fiber module

(LC)(GLC-SX-MM) to Switch 2 (2950SX-24) port 26 (MT-RJ). I am using a Belkin fiber patch cable (F2F202L9-03) MTRJ to LC fiber connectors. It will not link up. http://www.belkin.com/networking/fiber/

I have tried 2 (GLC-SX-MM) SFP modules and 2 (F2F202L9-03) patch cables and uplinked the 500G-12TC switch to 3 different (2950SX-24) switches.

Thanks,

Chris

I am afraid you need to use a cross-over patch cable because crossing on the MTRJ site is impossible and on the LC site depends on the jack construction.

If I understand the picture well is crossing on the LC site in your case impossible too.

Tom
