Cannot Ping a host on another network

Internet----cisco-827----Pix-501----HUB---PC2--Cisco-2621----HUB----PC1

*PIX = 10.0.1.254(inside interface) & a static route to 192.168.1.0 network via 10.0.1.250

*2nd PC = 10.0.1.1 & gateway is 10.0.1.254. I added a static route to 192.168.1.0 network via 10.0.1.250

*Router = 10.0.1.250(outside Interface) & 192.168.1.254(inside Interface)

*1st PC = 192.168.1.1, gateway is 192.168.1.254

The 2nd PC can ping any PC that's on the 192.168.1.0 Network. The 1st PC im still having problems pinging any PC that's on the 10.0.1.0 Network. I can

only ping the PIX from the 1st PC.

I have no ACL's on the router and I can access the internet via both Networks.

IP routing is setup.

Any suggestions?

Hai,

What is PC2, is it multihomed? First try by removing the static route which you had given to 192.168.1.0 in PC2, then try ping from PC1. Because for ping replies, we have to suspect both sender and receiver routing policies. Here i am thinking that PC2 is able to receive the ping request packets but cann't reply to you.

I found out the problem. The PIX is not a router. So what i did was set the PC on Network 10.0.1.0 to point to the router ip 10.0.1.250 instead of the pix, which is 10.0.1.254. The router has a default-gateway pointing to the pix 10.0.1.254 which is y i can access the internet. I can now ping host on both networks.
