cannot PING from Router to PC but pings work from PC to router

Hi all,

I have a connection as follows

PC-----------R1-----------R2.

I can PING from PC to R1 and R2.But the other way around from R1,R2 to PC does not work?? .I can ping the Ethernet Int but then to my PC it does not work???. I have also checked the Subnetmask of my PC n Gateway they are /24. Can any one hint whats wrong here.

Also with "SH IP RO" I see the route to my PC from R2 n R1 is directly conn.

Thanks

Re: cannot PING from Router to PC but pings work from PC to rout

Hey There,

Couple of options:

1. Try clearing the ARP cache in your routers

2. What is the source IP address that it is using.

Show us the config and let's take it from there.

Do you have 1 or 2 Nics on the PC ? SInce you can piung the ethernet ip on the router that is on the same subnet that your PC is on , I do not beleive the problem is on either router. If you are using a windows box take a look at a 'route print ' from the command line this may give you a clue
