Hi,

we have a serial p2p conection beteen two 3600 routers. Although the serial link looks ok (no errors in layer2 etc) we cannot ping the ip address of the serial link in the same router, nor in the peer router. Since the subnet is direclty connected, I do not thing this is a matter of routing. Could someone helo me?

Thanx

You can try to set the a default gateway ip address on your PCs, if you can ping the serial interface and Ethernet interface inCisco console mode. Or, you route table has problem, please fix it.

Hi,

I cannot ping when I am conneted to the router, its own serial's IP address. This is not learned via the routing protocol, it is direclty connected subnet, isn't that right?
