Re: Cannot recover 2611 IOS from rommon.

Based on your output I would verify your TFTP based image for a proper size/file checksum. Easy way to do this is to put it on another router's flash, if you have one, and run the "verify " command to check the Checksum. You might have a bad image. If so download a new one and try again. Looks like you have the tftpdnld working from rommon.

Hope this helps you,

Re: Cannot recover 2611 IOS from rommon.

I never success download the IOS at rommon mode. I tried as follows,

1. download to DRAM(xmodem -r) at rommon and boot-up successfully.

2. "show flash" shows nothing and properly showing the flash size(8MB).

3. "copy tftp: flash:" but never success. the error message is "Invalid flash or no flash".

4. "erase flash:" and able to download the IOS.

it works after erase the flash. looks flash damaged(??). is there any way recover at rommon mode because it's too long to wait the xmodem download.

Thanks,

If you don't have flash, you can boot the router from bootflash. After that you can issue "copy tftp flash" for image transfer. OR as its pointed, use xmodem. It takes long time but its proven. No other way if tftpdnld doen't work.
