cannot shutdown bgp session via snmp

Hello,

Trying to control a bgp session (start or stop it) via snmp, using the bgpPeerAdminStatus variable (which is declared as read-write in the BGP4 mib) fails with a "notWritable" error (using snmpv2, IOS 12.2.10a on c3640)

The write community is correct (I can set other writable snmp variables)

Is there any other way to control a bgp session using snmp?

None that I know of--you should probably open a tac case on this, since it sounds like a bug, or something that's going to take some specific debugs to sort out.
