I'm setting up a websense server to capture the traffic from my pix, the problem I'm having is when I setup a monitor session
monitor session 2 source vlan 2 (vlan between the core switch and pix)
monitor session 2 destination interface Gi2/0/14 (second nic card to my websense server)
My websense server does not see any of this traffic for some reason. Does anyone have any experience with this setup? Do I need to create a remote vlan that copy's 'vlan 2 ' traffic into a separate remote vlan??? Any idea or suggestion would be great.
I should also mention that the websense server is working fine, but I'm trying to enable Network agent to capture traffic like msn messenger/AIM.....
If you are just using the server as a packet capture device it should work fine just the way you have it , if you aren't seeing packets I would concentrate on the server as the span session you set up is correct . Is the nic able to be put into promiscuous mode ???
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
