CAT 1924C console shows ATQ1, cannot reset to normal console mode

The problem is on a cat1924C, the firmware has been upgraded to cat1900.537.bin, the switch is second hand and has not been availible via console at any time since it's arrival.

We have attempted to reset it to factory defaults, which seemed fine (no error messages) but the console port is still not availible, the same with resetting the console port settings.

On bootup it brings up AT commands (ATQ1.....) which leads me to believe that the console port has been set up for a modem. Not sure where to go from here, is there a jumper on the board that prevents the memory from being erased or something simular?

Some older models of 2800/1900 switch require a null modem cable, while others require a regular rollover cable. If you use the wrong cable you will get AT commands at the prompt
