hi all

i've read the following on cco

Support for dynamic VLAN assignment provides flexibility in assigning

ports, enabling users to move to

another location/port on the network and retain the same VLAN

How does this work?

In my mind vlan assignement was made by port or mac address (vmps)

Does it means than it is possible to assign a vlan after user login

(authentication)

if yes how can i configure it on 2950 ?

another question

can i perform port monitoring on a gigabit port (2950 and 3550) i can't

find this info on cco

Thanks

The document you read refers to VMPS. Port based VLANs and MAC addresses based VLANs(VMPS) are the only options you have.

Yes you can monitor a gigabit interface
