Our office has several Catalyst 2950 switches with Port Security enabled on them. They are setup with an absolute aging time of 1 minute. I have observed these switches dropping a packet once every minute or so. If there is a period of inactivity, the first packet that is sent by the device on the port will be dropped. This is causing attempted TCP connections to the device to occasionally fail.
Can anyone explain why the switch may be dropping these packets?
