Cat 3548xl will not boot when reset must type "BOOT"

What command is needed to allow a catalyst 3548xl switch boot automatically. When the switch is turned off it stays at a ROMMON prompt. It will not function until I type the boot command but I do not know the command to make this happen automatically. It is equivelant to someone changing the CONFREG on a Cisco router but then forgets to put it back. WHen I do a show ver on the switch is says flash:c3500XL-c3h2s-mz-120.5.2-XU.bin and Configuration register is 0xF. I do see the flash file named about when I type "dir flash:"

Probably the boot variable is missing. Do the following

config t

boot system flash:c3500XL-c3h2s-mz-120.5.2-XU.bin

end

wr mem

At this point it should boot fine upon a reload
