I have a problem to limit the bandwith on a 3550 interface. Actually I fallowed the cisco configuration guide as followed:
class-map match-all C1
match access-group name AllMacs
police 1000000 8000 exceed-action drop
police 96000 8000 exceed-action drop
mac access-list extended AllMacs
permit any any
switchport access vlan 911
switchport mode access
no ip address
service-policy input Max1M
flowcontrol receive off
flowcontrol send off
To test I connected two 3550 and I tested the throughput. In fact the result was still the same, doesen't matter if the policy was 100MBps or 8kBps! I read a lot about burst-rate and rate-bps on cisco sites but couldn't find the solution......
