Re: Cat.4006 error message

It looks like you’re probably dealing with an auto-negotiation problem or bad cable or nic (something physical layer). Start by setting your port to the speed you are wanting to run http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/473/3.html

Please look on both site "show port negotiation"

It must be the same on both side (enable or disable).

Re: Cat.4006 error message

Port speeds do not match.

Looks like flapping. This is usually a sign of a layer 1 problem. Bad NIC, Cable ect. Check those.

Have seen this for intemitent and rapid disconnects and reconnects. In the case I say it was down to faulty cabling, but can be due to many things.

Re: Cat.4006 error message

Gents! No need to worry...

All this is, is when someone shuts down their PC or reboot it. It is just like unplugging thet port where they're connected. Basically when you shut down your PC you're "unplugged" from the switch and you're leaving that bridge port. When you boot up you're NIC is negotiating the speed/duplex with the switch, and the 4006 is calculating the spanning-tree then you "join" the bridge.

This is just normal operation.
