Hi anyone pls clarify as I have a Cat.4006 with a Supervisor Eng. II and a 6-port Fiber Module installed.

I have configured an IP address to it by the following command;

console>(enable)set interface sc0 10.0.1.1 255.0.0.0 10.0.1.255

.

.

.

When I used my IE from another workstation to connect to the Cat 4006 by using its IP address configured as above, the IE shows a help page to link to the following help URL;

www.cisco.com/cco

.

.

.

and it 's never showing the Switch WEB BASED MANAGEMENT Page. Why is it so ? Anything wrong with my IP configuration above ?

Please help out.

thank you.

You might want to additionally give the following command,

set ip http server enable

Use show ip http for verifying the configuration.

Hi Sir, I did have specified the command "set ip http server enable" in the Cat.4006.

How do I confirm the IOS run by the Cat.4006 ? As I understand, the Cat.4006 might be running the Cisco Integrated IOS (Native Mode) or CatOS.

When do I need to configure the Management Ethernet Interface (me1) ?

Please help out.

For the cat 4000, cisco doesnt ship the Catalyst web interface bundled in the Image.The CWI (cat web int) is a totally separate image that needs to be downloaded. Check software center at cisco to download the image. Hope this is of help

Sup2 cannot run native IOS. So I belive you have Sup2. To enable web interface, you also need cv image in the bootflash. The following page should help
