Cat 5000 down

I have bad experience today, one of Cat 5000 hang or down and my colleagues reset the switch so some logs were missing.

Can someone tell me possibility Catalyst 5000 down/hang (software or hardware possibilities)? (beside electricity problem).

If the OS has become corrupt for some reason, that could cause it to not boot. Perhaps if you attach a console connection to it and start a capture session before you even turn it on, you can capture the entire power up sequence. That will give more information to help you isolate where the problem is.
