We couldnt successfully create a two port UTP ether channel between two Cat 6500 switches with Switch 1 having ws-x6516-gbic with ws-g5483 gigabit connector and Switch 2 having ws-x6548-ge-tx.
The error message was: %EC-SP-5-DONTBNDL: Gi7/3 suspended: incompatible partner port with Gi7/1
we are 100% sure that all ports are having exactly the same configuration.
The problem was resolved when we changed the module on Switch 1 to ws-x6408-gbic.
Can anyone explain why was the port channel unable to form between ws-x6516-gbic module and ws-x6548-ge-tx module.
