We are a 24/7 shop and can only update devices once a quarter. How do you decide when and what version to upgrade to? I don't have any special reguests at this point but have been to the Cisco Feature navigator and find way too many choices. Currently, I am running cat4000.6-4-12.bin. Feature set is K8. Rommon is 4.4(1) I want the latest upgrade that is stable. I use GD or general deployement as I guide for other devices but I don't see the same for CAT4000.

the GD would be the latest maintainence release in 6.4 train which is 6.4(18).

GD for catalyst 4000's is in the 7.X train starting at 7.6.12 , latest version being 7.6.14 . You will need 64 meg of DRAM and also looking at your rommon it is too old and this will need to be upgraded before loading any 7 train software.

Hi Glen -

Where did you get the information about 7.x being the GD release ? Because if there are 2 contradicting sources of information ( web links ) , then we need to get that fixed.

The following link suggest 6.4 to be the GD release for Cat4k.
