Cat4k Sup-II vs. Sup-III me1 and sc0 Configs

Setting the me1 on the Sup-II is easy. "Set interface me1 ip-address mask". How do I accomplish this on the Cat4006 with Sup-III?

Once the me1 interface is set on these switches, is the switch now pingable and Telnet-able from any of its switch ports?

Should I be using the sc0 instead of the me1?

The me1 port on the SupIII is only active in ROMMON and should only be used for disaster recovery. Since SupIII is IOS, there is no sc0 interface. Instead, you assign a management IP address to a port or a VLAN interface. Creating a VLAN 1 interface and assigning an IP address will allow all ports in VLAN 1 to telnet to the switch.

The me1 ethernet port is actually only addressible from rommon, and used only for image recovery porcedures. The me1 port is not even visable interface in the new IOS. If you are looking for a management, configure a VLAN interface
