Does anyone know of a way to determine the utilization on a line card for the Catalyst switches? We have several cards that the data sheets say are capable of 15Mpps, and we are experiencing some delays in servers connected to them. Thus we want to insure that we are not hitting this limit. Unfortunately, TAC states there are no commands in the code to show the utilization of the line cards.
There is no command to check per-linecard utilization. Your best bet is to do a show top and see which are the top used ports. You'll see a delay after entering this command ... cause it is doing the 30 second calculation of the port utilization during this period.
OK, if there's no command to show per-linecard utilization, then how does Cisco rate the throughput on these cards? More importantly for me, what symptoms or counters that are available would indicate that I am pushing more through than the line cards can handle?
