Cat6 WS-X6578-GE-TX backplane speed

Hi

Based on http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps708/products_data_sheet0900aecd8017376e.html

The backplane design for X6578-GE module is:

? Dual 20-Gbps (40 Gbps total) channel connection to switch fabric on Supervisor Engine 720

We need to find out more details on the design. E.g. what are the ports sharing the same Gb channel?

Are port 1-10 sharing 10Gb?

Thanks

If you mean 6748-GE-TX, it is not a blocking switch and therefore each interface have full gig connection to the fabric. The ports however are serviced by a a single ASIC chip for every twelve ports but that in no means that the ports are sharing bandwidth to the fabric. The ASIC is just to serve as an interface from the port to another chip that connects to the 740 Gbps fabric channel.

However, if you mean WS-X6548-GE-TX that means that there is an 8:1 oversubscription. ports 1-8,9-16, etc.
