Cat6500 IOS: no link up/down syslog

In the corporate LAN, a couple of 6500 with IOS are connected through a 2 Giga fiber optic port channel; the port channel interfaces are routed; both "logging console" and "logging buffered" are on and are set to informational severity level(severity=6), but if I extract the port channel GBic, the 6500 will not trig any syslog message.

I expect to read a couple of %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN and %LINK-3-UPDOWN, but the 6500 does not react.

Why?

Best regards.
