Hi there,
I am new here but I wondered if any could tell me whether a Catalyst 6500 switch with a WS-X6K-SUP2-2GE engine and WS-F6K-MSFC2 switch feature card will support a WS-X6548-GE-TX 10/100/1000 ethernet module? The switch is installed with CATOS and MSFC2 is IOS.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Cheers

Yes it will provided you have the right CatOS version on the switch. One thing to note is that this is a fabric enabled card which basically means the performance is much higher when compared to a classic card; however, this increase in performance is only realized when a switch fabric module is installed in the switch.

Hi Friend,
This card is very well supported with the hardware you are having but make sure you have minimum CATOS release 7.6(1) on supervisor however Cisco recommended CATOS release is 7.6(9) for this card.
Have a look at this link

HTH, if yes please rate the post.
