Cat6K_Sam(config-if)#switchport mode trunk

Command rejected: Gi2/1 not a switching port.

Cat6K_Sam(config-if)#switchport access vlan 30

Re: Cat6k - not a switching port

Hi,

By default the port on L3switch is L3 port if u r using IOS. Do the following

conf t

int range gig x/y

switchport

This command will make it a L3 port and then you will be able to configure the L2 features.

HTH, Please rate if it does.

Re: Cat6k - not a switching port

Hi,

I think the port is routed mode... See show run interface gi2/1 whether any no switchport command is

configured or not.....

If so, just give switchport and then try....It will work.

Rate if it helps,

Rgs.

Re: Cat6k - not a switching port

hi

Try keyin in switchport under the gigabit interface and change the ports from route mode to normal L2 switched interface.
