Catalyst 2950 disabling port

Hi,

I have a wireless bridge (Proxim Quickbridge 20) connected directly in a catalyst switch 2950 port. Occurs that frequently (one in a week) the port becames disabled with the status: "err-disabled".

The message I could get with show logging is this:

%PM-CLUSTER_MEMBER_1-4-ERR_DISABLE: link-flap error detected on Fa0/12, putting Fa0/12...

What could I do check the cause of the problem ?

Thanks a lot.

Hello,

a flapping link can be caused by any of the following:

Speed/duplex mismatch

Faulty cable/loose connector

Faulty NIC or other end station problem

Faulty switch port

Other misconfiguration

If you do not want to manually reenable the port, enable error disable recovery for the link-flap error-disable cause:

Switch(config)# errdisable recovery link-flap
