Catalyst 3524 with IOS vs snmp

With a Catalyst 3524, if i run the command

"sh env all"

i get info about the fan and the temperaure of the switch.

1) how can i get these value with the snmp ? (no command like "snmp-server enable traps envmon" is available)

2) the command "snmp-server enable traps entity" what notification generate ? (Cisco CCO -> "Generates a trap for SNMP entity changes" ????)

Thanks in advance.

Re: Catalyst 3524 with IOS vs snmp

First have a look at http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/477/SNMP/snmp_traps.html which should cover all of your questions on what each CLI trap command mean and how to configure it. Entity traps covers "entity--Sends Entity MIB modification notifications. This is from the ENTITY-MIB-V1SMI.my and the notifications are:

enterprise 1.3.6.1.2.1.47.2

1 entConfigChange.

As for your Q1, XL siwtches does not have the necessary hardware built-in to it for env traps, therefore no CLI commands available for traps. Only high-end switches like Cat6Ks have these traps available.
