Catalyst 3550-12G using OSPF on INIT stage

Our company has in usage a catalyst 3550-12G configured with OSPF routing protocol, with one Gbic directly to the backbone and one Gbic for redundancy (an alternative path). The problem is that all backbone routers are using the redundacy path and are seing catalyst 3550-12G in INIT phase for the directly link. in this way all the traffic coming from branches is transported by the redundant link, not directly with the short cost path. It seems that catalyst 3550-12G doesn't see the adjiances routers connected through the primary link.

Can anybody help us?

Thanks very much in advance

Not building adjacencies in OSPF can have several causes:

Different hello & dead intervals

Interfaces not in the same area

password for authentication not correct

Stub area flag set differently

Probably one of these parameters is causing your problem.

You can check the OSPF design guide on CCO for details on this.
