Catalyst 3550xl - lose ARP table entry - unable to connect video units

I am have a problem where I cannot conncet to my Tandberg 880 video conferencing units in my remote sites.

I have to telnet into the switch in the remote sites and do a clear arp, clear mac-, and then ping the video unit from that switch to repropogate the arp table entry for the video units.

After I do that I have exactly 5 min. to connect and establish the video link, anytime after that I have to go through the above mentioned process to reestablish the link.

The switches in the remote sites are Cisco Catalyst 3550xl, and the ports for the video units are set up as standard access ports.

Does anyone have any idea why the switch loses the arp table for the video units?

Are you running any release below 12.1(14)?

There is an issue with these releases that could cause this.

So the advice is to run an upgrade.

The running release is 12.0(5)WC9. I have not found any later release for a 3500XL switch. Are the 3500XLs included as part of another model's code in the 12.1 release series?
