I need at least a 12 port 10/100/1000 and a 48 port non-POE 10/100/1000 switch that support
unicast and multicast. I'm not sure if a 3560 model or a 3750 model would be better. Does someone know the main differences between the two? This in in a school enviroment.
Thanks
Dave

For me, 3560 is newer and more cost-effective model. Both of two series can fulfill such port requirement but 3560 is cheaper, unless you have policy to use 3750, otherwise, I will prefer 3560.
Below is the product info. of both sw :

And you can use the switch solution finder to select the right one. But I can't access it, I don't know it is my PC problem or the web problem. Please try it.

Hope this helps.

Dave,
The only difference between a 3560 and 3750 is, the 3750 has stacking and the 3560 doesnt. Other than that, they are both the same box.
Let me know if it helps.

Arul

Thanks. Arul. I never consider this as the difference.

I think that the main difference is the presence of the 32Gb stack bus in the 3750.
if you connect several 3750 switches together (upto 9 using Cisco StackWise Stacking Cable), they will operate like the single device.

Thanks for all the replies.
That answers my question. They only need the 3560.
