Catalyst 4006 w/supIII to 3640 router connection

What is the best way to accomplish this? I have only GB modules in the 4006. I am having an issue with port speed/duplex. Gigabit ports can only be auto or 1000/full, correct? So how do I connect the 4006 to FE fiber modules on the 3640 (I don't think this is possible)? If not then does that mean that I have to buy FE for the 4006? Is there a problem with auto-negotiating between the 4006 and the 3640? Will this cause performance issues?

Depending on what type of module you have, if you have only 1000X modules then it won't connect to the FE ports but if you have 10/100/1000 module then it should be OK.

Here is the datasheet for the cat4000 for your ref.

I have the 48 port gig module that is 10/100/1000BASE-T. The service provider who owns the 3640 is going to send a 10/100BASE-T FE module that I can connect to but I still will have to auto-negotiate to establish a connection. Will this affect my performance? What is the best way to connect the 3640 to the 4006? How do most folks connect FE to Gigabit Ethernet?Thank you for the info.

you can't connect the 4006 GBIC to the FE fiber module on 3640.
