catalyst 500 series switch problem

i am connecting a D link Access point to my catalyst express 500 series switch. I configured the smartport rule as access point . But after configuring the smartport as access point , my switch ethernet port is remains down.

Hi Raghu,

You should get some sort of alert in your 500 Series switch incase of conflict or a problem, also check the light indicators physically located on top of that port, Is that alive?

You can assign "OTHERS" role to that port which will get rid of all special role commands on that specific port.

I have the same problem with an WAN router, but I think and it seems that it was not possible to connect to an equipment who didn't support dot1q
