we have a catalyst 6500 with a routing module as our backbone switch, I'm willing to use a sniffer (realSecure) to monitor the network traffic and find any suspicios packets beffore it affects our network.
The question is: how does it affect the performance of the switch to have a mirror port that shows me ALL the traffic that passes through this switch, and to have this port "forever"???
