Catalyst 6509 Console Dial-in

I was trying to access Catalyst 6509 Console Dial-in Access.

I connected a us robotics modem to console of switch.

iam not getting dial auto answer from modem.

but if i remove console cable from modem.

and after modem neogociation is finished i connect console cable.

then i can access switch.

Why is this behaviour.

and if you could tell me the right procedure to access catalyst 6509 remotely from dial-in.

Take a look at the modem settings on the following page

I have done all possible setting's from the above link.

even TAC engineer suggested me this link.

As i said it works fine but what i have to do is remove console cable from modem and let modem negociation finish and then connect console cable to access the switch.
