Catalyst 6513 bootflash and sup-bootflash

Hello!

I've upgraded the IOS on Cat6513 and stored new image to a PC card in Slot0. Catalyst is running this image directly from the PC card.

And still I have old images stored in bootflash: and sup-bootflash: Can I safely delete these images?

And if I can delete them.. bootflash and sup-bootflash: what a they for?

Thanks in advance!

P.S. I'll greately appreciate a link to good documentation for a Supervisor 720 architecture.

Re: Catalyst 6513 bootflash and sup-bootflash

As long as your boot statement is pointing towards the flash card to load then you can delete the old images without a problem .Remember to squeeze the space after deleting. Also once you delete the image in sup-bootflash , if there is enough room I would copy your image which is on the flash over to sup-bootflash and then add another boot statement pointing to the "sup-bootflash" . Do not use msfc bootflash , the box won't boot from there.
