I looking for a management tool or a script to monitor available or in use ports on the catalyst switches. The OID .126.96.36.199.188.8.131.52.1.8 gives me the current status of the port if it is up or down. Im not good at scripting so first decided to look here before the lost myself under the all those thick perl books. Is there any best practice that you guys familiar or an idea to follow.
Thanks again for the information you have provided. Is there any user discussion forum or mailing list to ask questions. It is mainly working but I have some problems especially on unused port files generation and some device support capability of the script.
