1st question is: How do I change the BID value? Or the defualt priority id of a switch?

2nd questio: How do I find out what mode (Cut-through, store-and-forward, or fregment-free) the swich is in?

or spanning-tree vlan n root

2. All Catalysts are store-and-forward.

Yes. Just show spanning-tree should do it.
