CatOS 8.5 (3) -- IDLE_Tasks

Upgraded some Sup720's to 8.5(3). I noticed a new task; IDLE_Tasks, utilizing @10% of the processor. I understand what the Kernel and Idle process does can someone shed light on this new "IDLE" process's function and what is the expected load of same? Many thanks!

Re: CatOS 8.5 (3) -- IDLE_Tasks

In earlier code 6.4.6, "Kernel and Idle" was accounting for the jobs of IDLE_tasks in 8.5

code. In 6.4.6, the CPU utilization did not include "Kernel and Idle" and these tasks in

the total CPU usage computation. The IDLE_Tasks process is actually an enhancement which

collects information more effectively for creating crashinfo files. The Idle task process

also handles processing for inband packets, eobc packets and SLP communication. This was

integrated in 8.3 and 8.4 codes.
