CatOS command set port host IOS equivalent

I thought there was an equivalent global IOS command that works the same as the set port host command of CatOS. I've got a new 4506 w/Sup2+ fully populated with 48 port line cards and want to do a global port setup for PC hosts. I know that the switchport mode host command works on individual interfaces, but I'm looking to apply it globally.

Try to use the following command:

interface range fastethernet 0/1 - 48

spanning-tree portfast

end

Re: CatOS command set port host IOS equivalent

Get into the interface-range command and specify what ports you want to apply this to and then just do a "switchport host" , this is the equivalent to set port host . The interface range command is what allows you to apply one command to many different interfaces , it is not as clean as the CATOS for applying commands across many different interfaces , personally I found layer 2 switching configs easier on the Catos boxes .

Re: CatOS command set port host IOS equivalent

Thanks for the info. I agree...CatOS was much easier for L2 functions. The GUI helps some. If they would just add some commands that could be applied at the global level for the entire switch, it would help bridge the gap.
