HOW can I get similar results with CatOS (2948G and 2980G)? I see that my software version (CatOS 6.4.X) has the RMON-MIB (RFC 1757), which allows me to see that output on my IOS switches with an SNMP viewer (Whats Up Gold in my case). Is there a 5-minute output for packets, bits, or something in CatOS?
CV can do some basic monitoring, but it only shows you total packets per second, not just output. The best shot is open source tools, MRTG and Cricket. You can always poll ifOutOctets or ifHCOutOctets using any snmpwalk tools.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
