CatOS "show system" command

When executing the "show system" command on the CatOS, is the Traffic% and Peak% referring to the overall network traffic that is being processed by the switch?

Modem Baud Traffic Peak Peak-Time

------- ----- ------- ---- -------------------------

disable 9600 0% 2% Fri Jan 24 2003, 16:35:08

If so, what is the recommended method to show the same statistics on an L3 switch or router?

If not, what are the Traffic% and Peak% referring to?

Thanks in advanced.

Re: CatOS "show system" command

It's the backplane traffic. It is normally zero and you saw about 2% peak. To see the backplane traffic on a CAT6000 running native IOS, you can use the command "show catalyst6000 traffic-meter ". There is no command to get backplane traffic in other IOS based switches.
