I am preparing for the CCNA exam and have been thinking about purchasing a 2610 router ( refurb ) of course.
This is my question, would the 2610 help me prepare for my certification exams that involved configuring, troubleshooting, etc. I would use the router later for a small office network when I'm finished with it.
thanks

buy 1*2610(2611 is better) w/NM-4AS and 1*2511 first, you can pratice terminal server, routing protocol, etc. you can connect internet by 261x by cable or DSL. and connect your LAN with 2511. you can practise a lot with only the two routers.
then, buy
1*2611+1*2514+1*2503(isdn)+1*252x(FR)+1*252x(isdn)+1*switch for the potential CCNP

Hi,
My advice would be to buy at least two cheaper ones than one more expensive one. It helps A LOT if you can see how routing updates happen etc.etc (etc. etc!).

Connection is the most important thing in network.
So I suggest you to buy 2 device.
