CDP Doesnt Work on Serial Interfaces ? why ??

On routers in my network CDP works over serial interfaces just fine. Perhaps you can tell us a bit more about the router you are using and the environment. If you post the output of show cdp interface it would help and perhaps the configuration of the router.

My memory is that CDP does not run over multipoint Frame Relay, but certainly does run on Frame Relay point to point. I run it over HDLC and over PPP with no issues.

Actually i was discussing with one of my friend and he told me that CDP doesnt work on serial interfaces and he told me that CDP works on Broadcast thats why it doenst work on serial interfaces. So i was wondering whether he is right or not

If he says that CDP only works on broadcast interfaces then he is quite wrong.
