CDP problem between 2950 switch & 2620 router

I have a Catalyst 2950 - 24 port switch and it is connected to a Cisco 2620 router. When I am on the 2620 and type show CDP neighbour I can see the 2950 switch, then I console onto the switch and type show CDP neighbour I am unable to see the router.

Can anyone please assist in this matter because I am at lost to resolve this problem.

Thanks

It seems you have a one way circuit. The Tx from the router to the Rx on the switch is broken . Are you hard coded on your speeds and duplex settings ? If so try swapping the cable .

Thanks for replying. The switch port where the router is located the speed and duplex settings are not hard coded. Also I ran debug CDP packet and CDP packets are sent out of the port

I would hard code , reset the port . If you still do not get CDP swap the cablel

I have hard code, reset port, changed cable and restart switch and still do not get any CDP

I would

1. move to a different sw port

2. move to a differnet port on router

Move to a different switch port same result. Unable to move to different router only one available. I have just tried attaching a 1750 router to the switch and it works ok, could it be an IOS problem with the 2620 router? Current IOS on 2620 flash:c2600-i-mz.121-9.bin

On your router clear counters do a sh int ethernet x

Do you see the output packets incrementing ?

Can you paste in an out put form the sh int Ehternet xx

h int f0/0

Can you post the sh int from the switch

I did find a bug you may be hitting CSCdk47710

Hi can you you explain please

Cisco has a known bug listed before that affected the ethernet port of the 2620 router. If you do a show diag, and under the parts number, if you see 73-2843-03, you have the bug.

ROUTER#sh diag

The only fix is to replace the router.
